On one side of the Caribbean coast of Central America is the beautiful Belize. It covers an area of 8.867 miles square, including 266 miles of luxurious islands. It is protected by narrow waters around the reef.

Belize is the home of several ethnic groups called the Creole, Garifuna, Maya, Mennonite, Lebanese, Chinese and East India’s, who in harmony lives in Belize. The official language is the English but the Spanish is the second language most spoken in the country.

A Little History

During 1840 Britain called the country a British colony. During this era low national development processes become more organized, multi-ethnic through several changes of cultures. The multidimensional country came to the twentieth century, a period in which the government of British called Belize to that zone. Belize proceeded to have its independence on September 1981 and since then has been an independent nation and democrat. Today Belize is a member of the protection program of the United Nations, OAS and the Association of Caribbean countries.
