Varadero and Matanza, Cuba

Varadero is 140 km east of Havana and 30 km from Matanzas. The average temperature is 25°C.

French immigration arrived at Matanzas in the eighteenth century and became a rich and cultured city. At the south of Matanzas is located in the Zapata Peninsula one of the most important ecosystems in Cuba and largest wetland reserve in the Caribbean. Its natural landscape is a rich and provides a habitat for rare flora and fauna, characterized by its high level of endemism.

In the Zapata Peninsula are the Bay of Pigs, Larga Beach and Giron Beach. Yumuri Valley is one of the most impressive places in Cuba if you want to be surrounded about nature.

Bellamar Caves

San Severino Castle, Matanzas

El Morillo Fort, Matanzas

Oscar Maria de Rojas Museum

Are significant collections of the history of Cuba and very full of malacology, insects, butterflies and colonial weapons. This museum that turned on hundred years of its foundation is located in a building that was built in 1863.

Batalla de las Ideas Museum, Cardenas

This living museum that captures in its spirit the world´s own battle of ideas that has sustained the glory of Cuba over more than one hundred years of struggle.
