Bariloche, Lake Nahuel Huapi in the Argentine Patagonia

This is not the same Bariloche, that everyone knows

Bariloche Lake Nahuel Huapi Argentine PatagoniaSan Carlos de Bariloche is perhaps the most renowned and well-known city in southern Argentina. Bariloche is synonymous with the Argentine Patagonia, being the largest and first developed tourist destination. In this town of 40 thousand people, tens of thousands of foreigners come all year seeking his exuberant Lake Nahuel Huapi, of beautifully water bodies and their neighbours, the majestic mountains, The Cathedral and Tronador. But emerging from Bariloche, towards the  south, providing a beautiful opportunity for anyone who enjoys nature and the landscapes of the Andean mountains coming up with like a beautiful bouquet of options.

130 kilometres on route 258, you will find “El Bolson” is a small town to which its residents often described it as "the paradise", not only as a picturesque valley, blessed with a microclimate that makes it a safe region for the cultivation of fine fruits (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and elder, among others) and hops, which helps beer in the region to be the best of Argentina, even with royalties from production craft similar to the Freres Trapistes in Belgium.

The mysticism surrounding El Bolson is owed to the Cerro Piltiquitron (hill of the hung Clouds in the Mapuche language), but also because many of its residents today arrived in the 70's, when the Hippy move with the slogan of "peace and love" a slogan of life. Hence, El Bolson, is the main attraction for those who love crafts, non-exclusive which can be found in both socket in Otavalo (Ecuador), the result of the experience of those hippies, who left today sexagenarios mark in the city to convert "in the town free of nuclear energy" or "the town that loves life," their official slogans.

Bariloche Lake Nahuel Huapi

Bathed by the blue rivers and the Quimquimtreu, hiking and fishing, are more options at hand to tourists. A few kilometres from here, Lago Puelo, the lake which gives its name to the neighbouring village, serves as the first approach, for those who believed that Lake Nahuel Huapí was the only marvel of the famous Patagonia.

Always on South of route 40, the cities of El Hoyo and Epuyen (with its namesake lakes), extend and microclimate valley full of lush landscapes for more than 40 Kilometres.

60 kilometres are needed to be build in the direction of Cholila, where by a dirt road if we want to trace the ghosts of Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid, the notorious American bandits who settled for years in a wooden house, raising horses until they decided to return to the old ways and rob two banks in Argentina and the proceeds of a mine in Bolivia. Since last December the house where they lived these legendary bandits, it became a museum, which people come from all over the world to find out a little more about what was not learned in the film that will be cherished, Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

But skiing, nor is it unique to Bariloche. At 129 kilometres from the home of Butch and Sundance east is the city of Esquel, one of the main cities in the province of Chubut with two best ski slopes for those who love winter sports.

Travelling is a must-see for those who want to make one of the many circuits Patagonian between Argentina and Chile, for beginners or the kayak, by the waters of the Rio Grande, where crossing the border will become Futaleufu (Rio Grande language araucana) and the ideal for more experienced Kayak lovers.

From the Argentine side flow is gentle but when the channel begins to look for the fall to the Pacific, the Chilean side, is transformed into a monster endiablado water, which can only be the best judgments in this extreme sports and contemplate and enjoy the whole world.
