Chicamocha Canyon is a land form located near the city of Bucaramanga, Santander Department, in the Republic of Colombia.

This heavenly place of Santander, Colombia, currently housed in the National Park Chicamocha recently built.

The canyon is crossed airline, between the natural park headquarters and the El Tabacal, in the jurisdiction of Los Santos, through a cable car that will transport visitors within 30 minutes, to cut more than two hours the distance between the two places.

Basically it is a geological fault and a mountain range where they spend and bind several tributaries, including the eponymous river that runs along the bottom of the fault, to merge with rivers Fonce and Suarez and then form Sogamoso mighty river. The temperature Chicamocha Canyon ranges from 11 to 32 degrees Celsius between day and night. Their conditions are extremely dry vegetation and low, almost absent.

The barrel is made up of mountainous fragments arising vertically between two mountains and where the river water Fonce and Suarez. These mountains are the result of plate tectonic movements of the earth, where they spend and are shed faults comprising the territory of Chicamocha to regions such as the Mesa de los Santos and the city of Bucaramanga, making it the second largest canyon the world.

With more than 108,000 acres and 2,000 feet deep canyon was formed 4,600 million years ago in a place that was once a huge lake that allowed the formation of caves and sheltered marine animals that are still remains.
