El Salvador offers visitors more than 300 miles of beautiful beaches, including two of the best beaches of the world for surfing: the Sunzal and Playa La Paz. There are other places where you will also find great waves for surfing such as: Zonte, La Perla, etc.

Punta Mango

Here you can enjoy the warm waters, revitalizing waves and white foam from the Pacific Ocean.

On the coast of El Salvador is a beautiful gulf (Gulf of Fonseca) on the eastern border of the country in the province of La Union, which has waters shared with Honduras and Nicaragua, on the island is Meanguera, which is reached by boats that depart from the port of La Union. There are also three mangrove areas are: Estero de La Barra de Santiago, the Estero Bay Jaltepeque and Jiquilisco. In these marshes and the bay you can practice, water skiing, swimming, boating, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, or other water activities, like going out to sea through their puff.

All beaches in El Salvador have excellent access via paved roads, very few will have to travel very short space of dirt roads, and the coastal road (Coastal Highway) connects all the beaches. On this route you will find many restaurants with fresh seafood such as oysters, lobsters, shrimp, fish, squid, octopus, snails or other exotic sea foods, which can be served with a rich coconut or your favorite beverage, all served with the courtesy of the friendly and warm people of El Salvador.

Barra de Santiago Beach

Is located in the department of Ahuachapán. This is a beach town where you will find numerous seafood offerings also will be in contact with the ocean and the estuary of the bar, the estuary is suitable for swimming, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, and can go out to sea at high tide across the mouth of El Zapote.

Metalío beach

Metalío beach is a beach of black sand and the warm temperature. On this beach there are many small restaurants with fresh seafood, its proximity to the Port of Acajutla provides a lot of dynamism to their trade and supply of seafood, its location is perfect place to observe the beautiful colors of the sunset as the sun seen against the sea to hide in any season. Is an excellent destination for photographers.
